a pretty amazing 3-d light display by ITP resident, Matt Parker

At NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP), students hacked a wii-remote in the the spirit of Jackson Pollock’s “action painting.” Check out the project + demo.
My friend Jason Krugman’s thesis project at ITP is worth mention here. It’s 870 led’s that are triggered by wind (i.e. an open window, a person blowing). The concept is simple, but the result is pretty dope.
This project was done a while ago by a couple students at NYU’s ITP, Kristin and Che-wei. They received a lot of great coverage. Meet momo.

NYU’s ITP is known for the work that’s done in the hallways. Jason Krugman is a student/artist there whose focus is light installations. Check out his Light Chimes.
At ITP, Sinan Ascioglu started a really useful site for his thesis in 2008 called openvisuals.org. It has recently caught on as openprocessing.org — lots of nice Processing sketches with source code there.
